University of Vermont RALLYTHON raises over $102,000 to Support the UVM Children’s Hospital
Hundreds dance all night to support care for local children
Burlington, VT- Hundreds of UVM students, faculty, and staff danced the night away on March 4th to raise funds and awareness for the UVM Children’s Hospital. RALLYTHON, UVM’s Miracle Network Dance Marathon, raised over $102,034.09 by the end of the evening.
On Tuesday, April 4th, RALLYTHON’s student leadership team presented the finale check to UVM Children’s Hospital’s Chief of Pediatrics Lewis First, MD as well as their hand tied blankets to members of the Child Life team.
RALLYTHON is planned and executed by a committee of 33 students from across campus. The event garners support from the campus community and local and corporate sponsorships throughout the greater Burlington Community. A few of our local CMN partners, Costco Wholesale Corp., Kinney Drugs, and New England Federal Credit Union were some of the many sponsors who supported RALLYTHON for this year’s fundraising efforts.
“The passion and dedication these students bring to this event is inspiring,” said Tatiana Havens, Community Fundraising Specialist for the UVM Medical Center Foundation. “We are so appreciative of the UVM community supporting our patients and families in this way. Congratulations on such an impressive event.”
Now in its eighth year, RALLYTHON has raised a cumulative total of $851,239 for the UVM Children’s Hospital. The event is part of a movement of over 300 Colleges and Universities across the country who come together to raise money for their local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital. Funds raised by RALLYTHON support special programs and services, life-saving equipment, education, and research. Most notably, donations from RALLYTHON support UVM Children’s Hospital’s Child Life Program – a program specially tailored to help children and their families feel a sense of “normalcy” in an otherwise scary time.
