Day 8 of the 12 Days of Hoorays:
Extra Life achieved another year of massive success in 2023, with nearly 150 gamers stepping up to the plate to game and fundraise for the Children’s Miracle Network in support of the UVM Children’s Hospital! The 2023 Extra Life supporters have raised over $46,000 so far, surpassing last year’s total, and fundraising is still open until December 31.
Our Community Fundraising Team also had the lucky opportunity to attend some of the awesome, engaging events the past few months that a couple of our local teams held for people to come together and play for the kids in real-time!
Team Vermont Information Processing came together for their 9th year fundraising in honor of Extra Life by gaming for 24 HOURS at the Vermont Gaming Academy in the University Mall in South Burlington on Game Day. Not bad for a day at work and huge kudos to those that worked the night shift! Aside from just enjoying some quality team bonding time, they ended up raising a total of $16,865.13! Thank you so much to VIP for this incredible triumph!
Champlain College’s ESports Team, also reaching their 9-year participation mark, held their 48-hour ESports tournament in their own facility in Burlington. The tournament is a budding annual tradition at Champlain, and this year the stakes were raised when Southern New Hampshire University’s ESports team traveled all the way across state lines to compete!
