University of Vermont Student Group Raises over $106,000 for the UVM Children’s Hospital

Burlington, VT- On March 2nd, hundreds of UVM students, faculty, and staff danced the night away to raise funds and awareness for the UVM Children’s Hospital. RALLYTHON, UVM’s Miracle Network Dance Marathon, raised $106,532.19 by the end of the evening, and on Tuesday, April 16th, 2024 the RALLYTHON student leadership team will present a check to the UVM Children’s Hospital’s Chief of Pediatrics, Dr. Lewis First.

Now in its ninth year, RALLYTHON has raised a cumulative total of $904,797.04 for the University of Vermont Children’s Hospital. The event is part of a movement of over 300+ colleges and universities across the country who come together to raise money for their local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital. Funds raised by RALLYTHON support special programs and services, life-saving equipment, education, and research. Most notably, donations from RALLYTHON support the UVM Children’s Hospital’s Child Life Program – a program specially tailored to help children and their families feel a sense of “normalcy” in an otherwise scary time.

RALLYTHON is planned and executed by a committee of 20 students from across campus. “The passion these students bring to this event year over year is really remarkable and we are so lucky to have their support,” said Wendy Finn, Community Fundraising Specialist for the UVM Medical Center Foundation. “We are even more excited for next year now, as they will likely reach the milestone of having raised $1 million in their ten years, which is an astounding feat.”

The event garners support from the campus community and local and corporate sponsorships throughout the greater Burlington community. The Shaw’s Foundation, UVM Medical Center Auxiliary/Replays, and our local CMN partner New England Federal Credit Union were some of the many sponsors who supported RALLYTHON with this year’s fundraising efforts.

Cheers to RALLYTHON 2024 and to them reaching the million in 2025 for the UVM Children’s Hospital!
