Thank You, Spirit Halloween!

Day 11 of 12 Days of Hoorays:

We want to thank the Spirit of Children Foundation for their support of the UVM Children’s Hospital. We had three incredible stores in our area, the Plattsburgh NY Spirit Halloween, Williston VT Spirit Halloween, and South Burlington Spirit Halloween, which raised $25,609 for our hospital. We are so grateful to the employees and teams at each of these stores that asked customers to support their local children’s hospital. The Spirit of Children Foundation can contributed over $120,000 to our hospital since the start of our partnership, and they provide many Halloween decorations and costumes to our inpatient unit to help all kids celebrate Halloween.

The funds raised from the Spirit Halloween campaign for the Spirit of Children Foundation go directly to our Child Life Team. The role of a child life specialist is to focus on the psychosocial needs of children and families in the healthcare setting. Child Life at The University of Vermont Children’s Hospital strives to empower children with knowledge and equip them with coping strategies so that they may face potential stressors with understanding and confidence. Thank you, Spirit of Children, for bringing joy to spooky season at the UVM Children’s Hospital.
